The guide will also teach people about common property auction scams. is set to release a guide to home auctions in order to help people avoid being scammed and get a good value on a new home, the company said yesterday.

“Property auctions can be an incredible way to save money when buying a home,” a spokesman said. “But you need to know how they work, and most people don't. So what our guide will do is explain the different types of home auctions and how to use them to their advantage.”

The guide will also teach people about common property auction scams, he said.

“Not every property auction is run by honest people,” he said. “Some are run by crooks. But people can learn the warning signs of a bad auction and avoid it. No one wants to get stuck paying thousands of dollars in unexpected fees after they win a bid on a new home.”

The guide will be released on the members' area of and will detail all common types of home auctions, he said.

“Picking the right type of auction for the right goals is important,” he said. “Some auctions are suited to people who want to live in a home, while others are better suited to real estate investors. We'll explain the difference.”
