4 Wheel Parts president and seasoned off-road racer Greg Adler has unveiled the car he’ll race at the upcoming King of the Hammers. The buggy features IFS (Independent Front Suspension), putting Adler among the handful of entrants riding the new trend of running vehicles with IFS. The ULTRA4 2014 Griffin King of The Hammers Presented by Nitto Tire will be held at Johnson Valley, California from January 31 through February 8 with the big race on Friday, February 7.

“This new car with IFS is as fast as a Class 1 car in the open desert and I can’t wait to put it to the test at Johnson Valley,” says Adler. Adler recently raced in the inaugural Red Bull Frozen Rush at Newry, Maine earlier this month. About 10,000 off-road racing fans braved frigid weather to watch the field of eight trucks compete against each other on the snow-dusted course. Coverage of the Frozen Rush race debuts on NBC-TV this Sunday, February 2 at 3 p.m. ET/noon PT.

At the King of the Hammers, Adler’s car will run:

  •     Fox Shocks
  •     Maxxis Tires (airless, containing tire balls)
  •     Method Race Wheels (Beadlock)
  •     G2 Axles
  •     Smittybilt X20 Gen 2 Winch
No stranger to ULTRA4 events, Adler competed at last year’s King of the Hammers in his #210 car. The rate of attrition was high at the 2013 race and like the majority of entrants, he did not finish. He captured the first Pro 4 victory of his racing career last July at the Lucas Oil Off Road Racing Series (LOORRS) in Glen Helen, California. Adler emerged victorious from a field of 11 trucks in the short course race.

ULTRA4 racing is among the fastest growing motorsports in the country. It started in 2007 when friends competed for bragging rights, and today over 350 cars race yearly in ULTRA4 events held worldwide.
