Serious Buyer Announces His Search for Vintage 1967 Jim Morrison and The Doors International Ballroom at The Hilton Hotel in Washington D.C. Concert Posters
San Francisco, California (PRWEB) December 21, 2014 -- Serious Buyer, Andrew Hawley from Vintage Rock Posters, announces his search for Vintage 1967 Jm Morrison and the Doors International Ballroom at the Hilton Hotel in Washington D.C. concert posters. This would also be the only time that Morrison's mother would see her son perform live. The concert was on Nov. 25, 1967. According to Hawley, “This would be the Doors only performance in Washington D.C. They did play the Alexandria Roller Rink earlier that year and would return to the area to play Merriweather Post Pavilion in Columbia Maryland in 1968. Jimi Hendrix would play the Hilton International Ballroom in 1968. Local concert poster artist Dail Beeghly created posters for both the Doors and Hendrix Hilton concerts. He used alien like renditions of the bands surrounded by swirling day-glo orange lettering. The posters were printed on thick and thin paper. About 200 posters were printed for each show and hung locally to advertise for the show. Poster that were not hung were sold to local head shops or given as radio station give aways. Beeghly created posters for some of the top acts in the 1960s.” To view example of Beeghly poster art, go to http://www.vintageconcertposterbuyer.com/psychedelic/the_doors.html.
