Serious Buyer Seeks Original 1960'S Merriweather Post Pavilion Psychedelic Rock Concert Posters
San Francisco, CA (PRWEB) March 25, 2014 -- Serious buyer, Andrew Hawley from Vintage Rock Posters, seeks vintage 1960's Merriweather Post Pavilion psychedelic rock concert posters. The Merriweather Post Pavilion hosts the National Symphony Orchestra but became one of the favorite venues for the top rock n roll acts in the 1960s. The Pavilion is located in a planned community in Columbia, Maryland. According to Hawley, “Many most popular psychedelic bands the late 1960s performed at the Merriweather Post Pavilion amphitheater. Jimi Hendrix, Jim Morrison and the Doors, Janis Joplin and Led Zeppelin were few of the top name acts to play there. Durwwod C. Settle and Lester Grossman were the promoters who brought these acts to play the Pavilion. To advertise the concerts, they hired local artists like Dail Beeghly to create psychedelic posters for the Jimi Hendrix August 16, 1968 concert. Beeghly also produced the Jimi Hendrix Washington Hilton Hotel show poster earlier that year. One of the most memorable concerts at Merriweather was when Led Zeppelin and The Who played the Pavilion on May 25, 1969. Tina Silva created a beautiful poster for this concert. It was printed on thin paper and is unique because it does not have a picture of either band in the layout.” For more information about psychedelic rock concert posters, go to http://www.vintageconcertposterbuyer.com.
