Avid Collector from Vintage Rock Posters, Inc. Announces His Search For Original 1960's Who Psychedelic Concert Posters.
San Francisco, California (PRWEB) March 28, 2015 -- Andrew Hawley of Vintage Rock Posters Inc., has announced his search for original 1960's Who psychedelic concert posters. The Who and the Doors played together at the Singer Bowl in Flushing, New York on August 2, 1968. According to Hawley, “The Who toured the United States heavily from 1967 through 1969 playing many concert halls and college campuses. Perhaps the most famous Who poster was a poster created to advertise their performance with Jim Morrison and the Doors on August 2, 1968 at the Singer Bowl in Flushing, New York. The concert promoters were Gary Kurfirst and Shelly Finkel. Finkel was a successful boxer promoter who managed boxing legends Evander Holyfield and Mike Tyson. The Who told the audience about their upcoming rock opera - Tommy. The crowd was rowdy and rushed the stage but the Doors managed to put on an excellent show. The next year during their Tommy Tour, the Who played at Holy Cross Field House in Worcester, Massachusetts on October 17, 1969. As with many of the 1960's shows, concert posters were created to advertise all the upcoming performances.” For examples of psychedelic concert posters, please go to http://www.vintageconcertposterbuyer.com/psychedelic/index.html.
