Serious Buyer Announces His Search For Vintage 1960s Grateful Dead Psychedelic Acid Test Concert Posters
San Francisco, California (PRWEB) July 31, 2014 -- Serious buyer, Andrew Hawley, announces his search for vintage 1960s Grateful Dead Psychedelic Acid Test concert posters. Owsley Bear Stanley, the King of Acid, created the lightning bolt skull logo for the Grateful Dead. According to Hawley, “The Grateful Dead and Owsley teamed up with Ken Kesey to promote acid test parties in San Francisco and Los Angeles in 1965. The 1965 acid test posters were printed on three different colors of paper. They were a goldenrod yellow, blue, and white. The golden rod Grateful Dead acid test concert poster was the most common poster. These posters were hung up on telephone poles and in store windows to advertise upcoming shows.”
Hawley adds, “Owsley created a poster for the Grateful Dead Trouper’s Club show in Los Angeles. Rather than announcing that the concert was an acid test the poster instead used the term 'bring your mind' to avoid tipping off the authorities. The psychedelic posters were also hung up in San Francisco to draw Bay Area hippies to to the Los Angeles to show."
