Mercury Networks to Acquire PureWave WiMAX Technology
Fort Wayne, IN (PRWEB) March 27, 2014 -- Garrett Wiseman, CEO of Mercury Networks, began working with PureWave’s WiMAX product line in 2010 when he deployed the technology throughout the Mercury Wireless network in North East Kansas and Northern Indiana. The outstanding capability and reliability experienced with the equipment has given Mr. Wiseman the confidence to acquire the PureWave WiMAX technology.
“This is an exciting opportunity for our industry as a whole. I’m proud to say this product will truly be developed by operators, for operators. The ability to move beyond a lab environment to innovate and perform tests is something our industry has been missing and we now have. We will continue to invest into the WiMAX technology and introduce new and improve existing features and functionality. We have assembled a team of highly experienced professionals in the wireless industry and have ambitious goals to transform the face of WiMAX,” stated Mr. Wiseman. Leading the organization alongside Mr. Wiseman are Peter Carson, COO (former PureWave Networks SVP of Worldwide Sales), and Anastasia Krotov, CFO.
“This transaction offers substantial benefits for both parties,” said Don Meiners, CEO of PureWave Networks, Inc. “PureWave Networks can now focus exclusively on its LTE Small Cell product and market development, which has produced the industry’s leading price-performance LTE small cell base stations. Mercury Networks receives a customer base and technology allowing them to continue their expansion of WiMAX deployments on a worldwide basis. Having worked with the Mercury team for nearly four years, we are confident they are dedicated and knowledgeable of PureWave’s WiMAX technology and capabilities, and will continue to provide the outstanding level of quality and service that PureWave customers have come to expect.”
