Anthem is a leading healthcare company that has been in Connecticut for over 80 years and currently serves more than 1 million consumers.

As the president and general manager of Anthem, Hummel is responsible for the management of Anthem's local commercial group and individual business, including sales, account management, provider relations and contracting, underwriting and product delivery. She is also responsible for the development of Anthem's long-term strategic direction and collaborates with elected officials, regulators, providers, employers and other key stakeholders to drive improvements in health care access, quality, experience, outcomes and affordability. Previously, Hummel served as vice president of payment innovation for Anthem, Inc., parent company of Anthem, where she developed provider payment and delivery models that reward and support improvements in health care. She joined Anthem in 2007 as vice president, provider engagement and contracting for Anthem's Northeast markets.
Hummel earned a Juris Doctor from Washington University and a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Rochester. She serves on multiple boards of directors, including her role as the chair of the Patient Centered Primary Care Collaborative, a recognized thought leader in promoting health care transformation, and actively supports the American Heart Association serving as the chair of major events including the Go Red Luncheon for Women and the Greater New Haven Heart Walk.
