April 17 presentation to highlight how analytics from spatial data can unlock new opportunities.

Utilities now have collections of spatial data like high-resolution LiDAR, multispectral and Hyperspectral imagery. The analytics that are being generated by companies like QSI offer significant value and provide a strong motive to knock down silos and treat geospatial data as an enterprise asset.

Quantum Spatial, Inc. (QSI), the nation’s largest independent geospatial data firm, today announced that Anand Iyer, Ph.D., Senior Vice President, Products & Marketing at QSI, will present at the ETS19 | Energy Thought Summit, which takes place April 15-18 in Austin, Texas.

Iyer will speak on a panel entitled, “Spatial Data Across the Enterprise: Tackling Digitalization” with Jay Castleberry, an industry advisor for SAP, and Matt Piper, global director for Industry Solutions at ESRI.

The session, which is scheduled for Wednesday, April 17 at 2:45 p.m., will examine the impact of distributed energy resources (DER), IoT and smart cities on utilities, and why these changes will require utilities to unlock the power of spatial data across the enterprise. Iyer will discuss how different types of spatial data can help resolve a variety digitalization challenges and unlock even more opportunities.

“Utilities now have collections of spatial data like high-resolution LiDAR, multispectral and Hyperspectral imagery, where previously spatial data was associated only with 2D map data,” said QSI CEO Peter LaMontagne. “The analytics that are being generated from this data by companies like QSI offer significant value and provide a strong motive to knock down silos and treat geospatial data as an enterprise asset. During ETS, we look forward to discussing how utilities can best utilize their spatial data across the enterprise.”

QSI also will have a tabletop display where ETS19 attendees can learn about the company’s full portfolio of geospatial analytics solutions for energy utilities.
