Following an extensive interview and pre-planning process, Total Security Integrated Systems, the leading installer of access control systems throughout New York City, Long Island, and the New York/New Jersey area, recently completed a major security upgrade at the Queens Medical Associates facility in March 2017.
To improve the facility’s overall security, Total Security successfully installed a complete access control system with VMS to secure 21 various entry and exit points throughout the center. A multi-keypad alarm system with central station monitoring was also installed throughout the building. “This type of system will control and limit entry to specific areas of their facilities, such as their pharmacy and drug storage areas. Only authorized personnel will have access to these areas,” says Matt DiMicco, CEO and owner of Total Security. The access control and burglar alarms installed can also be activated/deactivated for various areas and were set according to their defined control schedules.

More specifically, the installation of access control systems started on March 15, 2017, and was completed in just two weeks’ time. The largest challenge was installing an access control system at this scale and scope without disrupting daily operations. The center is primarily a cancer treatment center where dozens of patients come on a daily basis, so the comfort and convenience of patients was of paramount importance. “We always do our best to not interfere in any way with our client’s ability to provide patient care” says Giancarlo DiMicco of Total Security.
