BusinessRadioX®'s Silver Lining in the Cloud Features Doug Foote with Georgia United Credit Union
Atlanta, GA (PRWEB) September 18, 2013 -- On September 11, 2013, co-hosts Nikole Toptas and Dominick Rainey of BusinessRadioX®'s Silver Lining in the Cloud welcomed to the studio Doug Foote with Georgia United Credit Union.
Doug Foote serves as Executive Vice President for Georgia United Credit Union. Originally founded in 1958 to serve the teachers of DeKalb County, Georgia United Credit Union has expanded today to also serve those associated with The University of Georgia, Georgia Tech, State of Georgia employees, and numerous metro Atlanta counties. Foote describes credit unions as "the best kept secret in the financial world."
Credit unions were originally founded by people who felt they were not being served well by a traditional bank. Explained Foote, "As a financial cooperative, we are owned by the people who use us, not owned by stockholders like a traditional bank."
Georgia United Credit Union participates in the Co-Op Branch Network, so they work with other credit unions to give members more options. Georgia United is also one of the few credit unions that now offers a remote deposit feature. According to Foote, "We continue to incorporate new technology for our members." This includes an expanded offering of smartphone apps and remote access to accounts.
