Blinn (TX) College's Bryan Campus Opens Two Relocatable Modular Buildings From Ramtech
Mansfield, Tx (PRWEB) August 31, 2014 -- Commercial modular construction firm Ramtech Building Systems of Mansfield, TX has announced that the two six classroom relocatable modular buildings that the company installed at Blinn College's Bryan campus in Bryan, Texas are now fully operational. Working closely with a project team that included construction manager RM Dudley Construction Company of College Station and The Arkitex Studio of Bryan, Ramtech was responsible for the installation of both modular school buildings, one of which was newly manufactured in April. The other modular building previously served as a demonstration facility at Ramtech's corporate campus and was dismantled and relocated it to its new site in less than one week.
Developed around Ramtech's standard 6,272 square foot six classroom design, one of the facilities will provide an anthropology and three general science classrooms in addition to two rooms that will be used for producing course material for the College's online distance education program. The modular building that was relocated was modified by taking five of the six classrooms and adding additional walls and doors to provide pooled office space for the adjunct faculty, with the remaining classroom serving as a conference and meeting area. According to Gary White, Ramtech's VP of sales, "when Blinn College came to visit us they recognized the flexibility of our modular building system, which enabled them to reconfigure the interior to meet their exact needs." Located at separate locations on the 80 acre campus, each of the building exteriors utilized a standard light stone R-panel metal siding, a thin brick veneer skirting wainscot, and an endwall façade designed to match the adjacent buildings. Articulated entries with ramps and canopies to match the existing campus structures were also built, along with connecting walkways to the other buildings on campus.
