Popular practical shooting retailer Double-Alpha Academy is pleased to announce the arrival of additional items for their range of bullet feeders. The growing list of products that are marketed under the Mr Bullet Feeder brand has proven to be a success since their release on the market some time ago. Thanks to their popularity amongst practical shooters and those that partake in IPSC, or the International Practical Shooting Confederation, the retailer is now confident in adding more products to the options already available.

With a bustling marketing place, the industry around practical shooting shows no sign of slowing down. With new and improved versions of existing products already on the shelves or slated for a release in the New Year, consumers have never faced so much choice.
When speaking to the online retailer’s head of marketing, it was explained that “with new participants joining the sport all the time, and with a widening demographic, the expansion of supporting products was inevitable”. As more people of all types and abilities as well as those from different backgrounds, are joining the sport, the demand and viability of a more varied selection of products has grown. This has allowed product developers to get more creative and bring to market products that wouldn’t have had an audience only a few years ago. This can be seen in the evolution of the range bag which has grown from a humble transportation solution to something much more advanced and feature-rich.

While the focus at the launch event was undoubtedly on the arrival and unveiling of the new Mr Bullet Feeder products, the number in attendance was worth commenting on. While in the past a new product in the world of practical shooting and the IPSC might have passed without much of a murmur, it seems there is a growing contingent who are dedicatedly following not only the sports main figures, but also the companies making the equipment and accessories required for participating in practical shooting.

One example of this was the announcement of a new pistol range bag. A product as innocuous as this, in recent times would have barely warranted a broadcast, now it merits its own press release and supporting promotional material. While this commercialisation and increase in popularity of the sport and its surrounding industries is generally seen as a good thing, some of the old guard, who have been entrenched in the sport for eons aren’t as positive. One patron spoken to was keen to point out that the influx of newcomers were changing the atmosphere of the sport and its community feel.

Fear of progress is understandable. However, in these modern times, progress cannot be avoided, and it should be embraced wherever possible. While retailers like continue to prosper, the number of manufacturers who attempt to capitalise on this latest trend will grow. Although the community feel of the sport might diminish over time, the number of options for participants will remain unfettered.
