Author Raymond Cooper continues his thoughts and musings on life through his newest collection of poetry, “Fading Footprints” (published by Trafford Publishing), the follow-up to his 2013 collection, “Look & See Me.”
Cooper refers to this collection as a “never-ending” story. In his constant search for the “elusive person or place,” Cooper takes readers through time in Australia and Hawaii as they view the world through his eyes. His experiences, both positive and negative, lay the foundations for many of his poems.
The poems in “Fading Footprints” touch a variety of themes, including love, loneliness, time and solitude. Cooper uses his poems to create poignant and haunting images, which he says will stay with the reader long after they have closed the book.
Through his book, Cooper hopes to leave readers with, “the ability to find that peace and contentment, or at least the time and the courage to keep on looking.”
An excerpt from the poem, “My Gift,” featured in “Fading Footprints”:
“I would wish for them smiles
brand new petticoats
and red, red roses.”
