August 2013’s Real Estate Performance Review for Barrington Announced By John Herman Team
(PRWEB) September 13, 2013 -- The John Herman Team is pleased to release the latest results for the August 2013’s real estate performance review for homes in Barrington. This month’s results showed an increase in the median sales price and the number of new listings for homes in this community.
The median sales price rose for both attached and detached homes sold in Barrington. The median sales price for attached homes increased by 63%, rising from $120,000 for the month of August 2012 to $196,250 for the month of August 2013, whereas the median sales price for detached homes rose by 9%, increasing from $417,500 for the month of August 2012 to $455,000 for the month of August 2013. There were mixed results for the number of closed sales for homes in this community. The number of closed sales for attached homes decreased from 5 closed sales for the month of August 2012 to 2 closed sales for the month of August 2013, but the number of closed sales for detached homes increased slightly from 26 closed sales for the month of August 2012 to 27 closed sales for the month of August 2013.
The Illinois real estate performance review also showed a decrease in the number of homes for sale. The number of attached homes for sale fell from 25 homes for the month of August 2012 to 19 homes for the month of August 2013, and the number of detached homes for sale dropped from 160 for the month of August 2012 to 128 homes for the month of August 2013. There was, however, an increase in the number of new listings for homes in the area. The number of new listings for attached homes rose from 3 new listings for the month of August 2012 to 4 new listings for the month of August 2013, and the number of new listings for detached homes rose from 29 new listings for the month of August 2012 to 42 new listings for the month of August 2013.
The performance review continued to show a decrease in the month’s supply of inventory for Barrington homes for sale. The month’s supply of inventory for attached homes fell from 8.6 homes for the month of August 2012 to 5.1 homes for the month of August 2013, and the month’s supply of inventory for detached homes dropped from 8.9 homes for the month of August 2012 to 5.5 homes for the month of August 2013. There was an improvement in the market time for homes sold this month. The market time for attached homes fell from 173 days for the month of August 2012 to 85 days for the month of August 2013, and the market time for detached homes decreased from 242 days for the month of August 2012 to 83 days for the month of August 2013.
