Detached homes in this community also saw an increase in the number of closed sale for the month, as this figure increased from 19 closed sales in September 2012 to 24 closed sales for September 2013.

The John Herman Team is pleased to release detailed information from Barrington’s September 2013 real estate performance review. This September 2013 report showed an increase in the median sales price and the number of closed sales for detached homes for sale in Barrington.

The report actually showed mixed results for both the median sales price and the number of closed sales for attached and detached homes in Barrington. While the median sales price for detached homes rose from $325,000 in September 2012 to $425,500 in September 2013, the median sale price for attached homes fell from $175,000 in September 2012 to $148,500 in September 2013. Detached homes in this community also saw an increase in the number of closed sale for the month, as this figure increased from 19 closed sales in September 2012 to 24 closed sales for September 2013. However, attached homes saw an additional decrease in the number of closed sales, as it dropped from 5 closed sales in September 2012 to 3 closed sales in September 2013.

There was a decrease in the number of attached and detached homes for sales in Barrington, according to the Illinois real estate performance review. The number of attached homes for sale went from 22 homes in September 2012 to 16 homes in September 2013, while the number of detached homes fell from 152 homes in September 2012 to 129 homes in September 2013. There was an additional decrease in the number of new listings posted in September 2013. The number of new listings for attached homes declined slighting going from 5 new listings in September 2012 to 4 new listings in September 2013, and the number of new listings for detached homes also fell slightly going from 34 new listings in September 2012 to 30 new listings in September 2013.

Additional details released showed a continuous drop in the month’s supply of inventory for Barrington homes for sale over the past three years. The month’s supply of inventory for attached homes fell from a 30.4-month supply in September 2011 to a 7.3-month supply in September 2012 to a 4.4-month supply in September 2013. The month’s supply of inventory for detached homes dropped from a 12.5-month supply in September 2011 to an 8.1-month supply in September 2012 to a 5.8-month supply in September 2013. There was some significant improvement for the market time for homes sold in this community. The number of days attached homes remained on the market went from 240 days in September 2012 to 31 days in September 2013, and the number of days detached homes stayed on the market fell from 129 days in September 2012 to 64 days in September 2013.
