In addition, the number of new listings for homes in Barrington Hills rose 171%, increasing from 7 new listings in September 2012 to 19 new listings in September 2013.

The John Herman Team is pleased to release detailed information from Barrington Hill’s September 2013 real estate performance review. According to this September 2013 report, the median sales price for homes for sale in Barrington Hills increased significantly for the second year in a row.

The median sales price for homes in Barrington Hills has seen a drastic increase over the past two years. Last year, the median sales price rose by 96%, increasing from $405,000 in September 2011 to $797,500 in September 2012. While not as drastic of an increase as last year, this year’s median sales price saw an increase of 19%, as home prices soared to $950,000 for September 2013, more than double from September 2011’s median sales price. However, the number of closed sales was cut in half this month, as the number of closed sales fell from 6 closed sales in September 2012 to 3 closed sales in September 2013.

The number of homes for sales and the number of new listings dropped dramatically last year, falling 19% and 56%, respectfully. However, the Illinois real estate performance review revealed that both of these figures rebounded this year. The number of homes for sale rose by 22%, going from 94 homes in September 2012 to 115 homes in September 2013. In addition, the number of new listings for homes in Barrington Hills rose 171%, increasing from 7 new listings in September 2012 to 19 new listings in September 2013.

The month’s supply of inventory for Barrington Hills homes for sale also rebounded, after seeing a 49% decline last year. This year’s figure rose by 57%, increasing from a 16.8-month supply in September 2012 to a 26.5-month supply in September 2013. The report also showed a significant increase of 22% in the market time for homes in this community, as the number of days homes remained on the market rose from 266 days in September 2012 to 432 days in September 2013.
