This year-end report showed an increase of 5.8 percent in the median sales price for Houses for Sale Barrington Hills IL.
The median sales price for homes sold in Barrington Hills for the year ending September 30, 2013 was $640,000, which is up nearly 6 percent from the year ending September 30, 2012 median sales price of $605,000. While prices increased, the number of homes sold in this community fell by 17.5 percent, as the number of closed sales dropped from 63 closed sales for the year ending September 30, 2012 to 52 closed sales for the year ending September 30, 2013.
The report also showed a decline in the number of homes for sale in Barrington Hills. The number of closed sales has fallen steadily over the past three years, decreasing from 120 homes for sale for the year ending September 30, 2011 to 106 homes for sale for the year ending September 30, 2012 to 98 homes for sale for the year ending September 30, 2013.
According to the Real Estate of Illinois performance review, the year did report that there were 159 new listings in this community for the year ending September 30, 2013, which is up 1.3 percent from the year ending September 30, 2013 figure of 157 new listings.
The year also saw a decrease in the month’s supply of inventory for Barrington Hills property, as the numbers fell from a 25-month supply of inventory for the year ending September 30, 2012 to a 20.5-month supply of the year ending September 30, 2013. Furthermore, the report showed an increase in the market time for homes sold in this community, as the number of days homes remained on the market rose from 269 days for the year ending September 30, 2012 to 430 days for the year ending September 30, 2013.
