Real Estate Performance Review for Palatine Announced by John Herman Team

The real estate performance review for homes in Palatine showed an increase in the number of closed sales for both attached and detached homes for the year. The number of closed sales for attached homes rose by 33%, increasing from 506 closed sales for the year ending June 30, 2012 to 676 closed sales for the year ending June 30, 2013. The number of closed sales for detached homes increased by 52%, rising from 324 closed sales for the year ending June 30, 2012 to 494 closed sales for the year ending June 30, 2013. The review showed mixed results for the median sales price for attached and detached homes in the area. The median sales price for detached homes dropped slightly falling from $78,250 for the year ending June 30, 2012 to 78,000 for the year ending June 30, 2013, and the median sales price for detached homes rose from $260,000 for the year ending June 30, 2012 to $288,000 for the year ending June 30, 2013.
There was a decrease, however, in the number of homes for sale reported in the Illinois real estate performance review. The number of attached homes for sale fell from 447 homes for the year ending June 30, 2012 to 260 homes for the year ending June 30, 2013.The number of detached homes for sale also dropped, falling from 270 homes for the year ending June 30, 2012 to 209 home for the year ending June 30, 2013. There was an increase in the number of new listings for both attached and detached homes. The number of new listings for attached homes increased from 991 new listings for the year ending June 30, 2012 to 933 new listings for the year ending June 30, 2013, and the number of new listings for detached homes rose from 690 new listings for the year ending June 30, 2012 to 820 new listings for the year ending June 30, 2013.
There was some improvement in the market time for homes sold during the year. The number of days attached homes remained on the market dropped from 173 days for the year ending June 30, 2012 to 141 days for the year ending June 30, 2013, and the number of days detached homes stayed on the market fell from 186 days for the year ending June 30, 2012 to 120 days for the year ending June 30, 2013. The year showed a decrease in the market time for Palatine homes for sale as the market time for attached homes fell from 11.1 homes for the year ending June 30, 2012 to 5.1 homes for the year ending June 30, 2013, and the market time for detached homes decreased from 10.7 homes for the year ending June 30, 2012 to 5.8 homes for the year ending June 30, 2013.
