Real Estate Performance Review for South Barrington Announced by John Herman Team
(PRWEB) July 31, 2013 -- The John Herman team is pleased to announce the latest real estate performance review results for homes in South Barrington for the year ending June 30, 2013. The performance review showed a slight increase in the median sales price for homes sold in this community.
The median sales price rose from $720,000 for the year ending June 30, 2012 to $730,000 for the year ending June 30, 2013. There was a decrease, however, in the number of closed sales in the area. The number of closed sales fell from 65 closed sales for the year ending June 30, 2012 to 51 closed sales for the year ending June 30, 2013. While this represents a decline of 21%, it is still substantially higher than the year ending June 30, 2011’s figure of 34 closed sales.
There was also a decrease in the number of homes for sale. In fact, the number of homes for sale has dropped steadily over the past three years, falling from 87 homes for the year ending June 30, 2011 to 66 homes for the year ending June 30, 2012 to 56 homes for the year ending June 30, 2013. The Illinois real estate performance review showed an increase in the number of new listings for homes in South Barrington. The number of new listings rose slightly from 130 for the year ending June 30, 2012 to 136 for the year ending June 30, 2013.
The month’s supply of inventory for South Barrington homes also fell, dropping from 14.5 homes for the year ending June 30, 2012 to 11.9 homes for the year ending June 30, 2013. The year showed an increase in the market time for homes sold in the area. The number of days homes in the community stayed on the market rose from 176 days for the year ending June 30, 2012 to 262 days for the year ending June 30, 2013.
