One late night, ten years ago, long after the office lights had been shut off, and the hum of the cleaning crew‘s vacuums had grown quiet, in an upstairs office, Realtor Tim DeLeon sat looking at a dim computer screen. His fingers danced on the keyboard, as stroke by stroke he worked with Microsoft Excel to build something. Earlier that day he had been asked a simple and common question that every Realtor has heard a hundred times. The difference was Tim DeLeon was not like most Real Estate Agents.
Tim DeLeon, following graduation from Colorado State University spent 25 years at Hewlett Packard before joining his wife, Joanne DeLeon, selling Real Estate at The Group Inc. His background was in programming and engineering, so when asked him, “When is the best time to sell my home?” Tim couldn’t do the usual sales speak. His whole life he had been groomed to find real answers with actual data. So he set out to find the answer. From that simple question the Neighborhood Patterns software was born.
Tim began using this real estate software and another he built called Scattergram Pricing to grow his business. Soon Joanne stared using the software too. They could have just kept the programs to themselves. They could have hogged the power of the tool and simply grown their sales empire. Anyone who knows them would tell you that’s not in their giving nature.
One year later at a RealTrends.com conference, Joanne DeLeon stood on a stage and talked about the software. She spoke to people on how it worked and how powerful it was. The crowd understood. Her table at the back of the room was overrun. From that moment Joanne and Tim realized how much the dedicated Real Estate Professionals needed help. Focus 1st LLC was formed soon after. Since then they have done anything and everything they can to spread the latest model of the pricing software program.
