Lake Villa District Library (Lake Villa, IL) has partnered with RBdigital from Recorded Books (Prince Frederick, MD) to deliver two new electronic resources: Zinio for Libraries and OneClickdigital. Zinio for Libraries, awarded Best New Database of 2012 by Library Journal, is billed as the world’s largest newsstand, offering multi-user access to popular publications. OneClickdigital is an online service that allows patrons to download audiobooks, including bestsellers, Recorded Books exclusives, classics and selections for children and young adults.

OneClickdigital provides patrons at Lake Villa District Library free access to eAudio at home, in the library, or anywhere with Internet access. Many titles are multi-access, so multiple users can check out a given title at the same time, eliminating holds. OneClickdigital is compatible with all popular listening devices, and mobile apps are available for the iPhone, Android, and Kindle Fire. OneClickdigital features an easy-to-use interface with streamlined navigation, fast downloads and automatic software updates. Live toll-free technical support is available at 1-877-77AUDIO.

Patrons of Lake Villa District Library may now also visit the library’s website for unlimited simultaneous access to complete digital magazines. Zinio features complete, full-color, page-for-page magazines with intuitive navigation, keyword article search and interactive elements such as audio and video. Periodicals can be viewed on most Internet-enabled devices inside or outside of the library. Good Housekeeping, Men’s Health, Newsweek and US Weekly are just a few of the popular titles that are available.

“Zinio lets our patrons load up reading material they can take with them anywhere, and it all fits in the palm of their hand,” said T.J. Szafranski, Lake Villa District Library Reference and Virtual Services Librarian. “We love that Zinio magazines never have to be returned. We tell our patrons to take our magazines and never bring them back.”
