The Ranch(SM) Treatment Center Opens Equine-Enriched Swan Creek House for Women
Nunnelly, TN (PRWEB) May 26, 2015 -- The Ranch(SM) treatment center in Tennessee has announced the opening of Swan Creek House, a 15-bed facility that treats women struggling with co-occurring conditions such as mood disorders, personality disorders and substance use disorders. In addition to individual and group therapy by experienced, master’s level clinicians, women at Swan Creek House receive a full complement of experiential therapies, including equine therapy.
One of 11 houses at The Ranch treatment center, the 15,000-square-foot home opened in March and features comfortable living spaces and beautiful views of the surrounding hills. The home’s expansive outdoor spaces open onto ponds, a gazebo, swimming pool, natural rock landscaping and a waterfall.
On the hillside overlooking the home is a state-of-the-art equestrian center that houses two group rooms and a viewing deck over a 150’ x 200’ indoor riding arena. The facility is equipped with lights, heated water and a ¾ bath, as well as 12 stalls, a wash area and a vet area for the equine partners.
As part of the facility’s equine-enriched curriculum, upon arrival, each woman is paired with an equine partner that she works with over the course of her stay. The equine program includes two equine therapy primary groups per week, co-facilitated with a primary therapist and a master's level equine therapist.
