The day brings a unique sense of community.

Every year, One-to-1 Fitness and the Red Deer Fit Body Boot Camp host their 24-Hour Train-a-Thon where they provide members of the Red Deer community with free fitness training and indoor fitness boot camp classes for 24 straight hours. This year’s full day of fitness training, games, food, events and entertainment raised thousands of charity dollars and ended with a $10,000 donation to the Jumpstart organization.

Both Red Deer Fit Body Boot Camp and One-to-1 Fitness share a single studio where they offer personal training and indoor boot camp classes to the Red Deer community.

Fit Body Boot Camp is the world’s fastest growing and most popular indoor boot camp franchise with hundreds of locations worldwide. One-to-1 Fitness is a personal training studio dedicated to helping the residents of Red Deer and the surrounding areas set healthy life goals and achieve fat loss and fitness results.

Pat Kerr, owner of both One-to-1 Fitness and Red Deer Fit Body Boot Camp, is the driving force behind the 24-Hour Train-a-Thon and its powerful community impact.

“The day brings a unique sense of community,” said Kerr, “families come and participate together, games are played, and the trainers are pushed to complete tasks of physical fitness. The mood is light and fun.

“Our resident photographer captures sweaty smiles, high fives, hugs and celebrated friendships. But most of all, he captures a community. This event is made up of hundreds of people coming together to support a greater cause— a family, working together to do good by others.”

The Jumpstart organization is a unique charity outreach program that provides underprivileged children with the funding necessary to join and compete in sport leagues across Canada. The organization is dedicated to making absolutely sure that all children have the opportunity to participate in sport, dance or other organized physical activities.

With the completion of the annual event’s third installment, the 24-Hour Train-a-Thon program has raised a combined total of more than $30,000 for charity organizations and community outreach programs.
