EMCO Releases a New Version of Its Remote Software Deployment Tool
San Francisco, CA (PRWEB) January 31, 2014 -- EMCO Software, a leading provider of software distribution utilities for Windows, has announced the availability of a new version of EMCO Remote Installer. EMCO Remote Installer is a software application designed to simplify software audit and software distribution tasks in Windows networks. Network administrators can use the application to audit software installed on remote PCs across a local network and to install and uninstall Windows software remotely.
Using EMCO Remote Installer, network administrators can distribute software remotely across a Windows network. To achieve this, network administrators should specify the installations files, the installation options and the remote PCs where the software should be installed. Software is deployed automatically on multiple remote PCs at once, so it can be distributed within a few minutes even in a large network. It is possible to install multiple packages within the scope of a single deployment. EMCO Remote Installer allows installing MSI packages and EXE installation files that support silent deployment. To install executable installations silently, network administrators should specify the installation command-line parameters or answer files that activate silent deployment.
Network administrators can get information about software installed across a local network using EMCO Remote Installer. The application can extract the data displayed in Windows Add/Remove Programs from remote PCs and store it in a centralized database. Network administrators can check the software installed on every PC, a group of PCs or the entire network. For example, it's possible to find all PCs where a particular application or version of the application is installed. The collected inventory information can be used to uninstall software remotely. Network administrators can uninstall software from either selected PCs or all the PCs where it is installed. The remote uninstallation operation can be executed silently over a network on multiple PCs at once.
The new version of EMCO Remote Installer is compatible with Windows 8.1 and Windows Server 2012 R2, the latest available Windows desktop and server platforms. Thus, the application allows managing software on all Windows versions starting from Windows XP and Windows 2000.
"The new version of EMCO Remote Installer offers a number of improvements designed to simplify the configuring of remote operations. As a result, network administrators can perform the required configuration quickly skipping all the optional settings," Thorarinn Oskarsson, CEO at EMCO Software, says.
