Written as a personalization book, “It's Your BIG day” (published by Trafford Publishing) allows adults to wish their children happy birthday with a quick story of family and friendship.

Author Rev. Catherine Mathis takes readers into the day of a little boy who thinks that his family has forgotten about his birthday. As he cries himself to sleep, he drifts off to a dream world where family and friends are celebrating a birthday with presents, cake and love. Startled by this dream, the young boy opens his eyes to find that the horrible events that had happened on his birthday were actually not real. The book then concludes with an open-ended message directed at the reader. There is a blank space for a name and a square box for a picture so that the reader sees they are being wished a very happy birthday.

It is the author’s hope that readers will not only feel special being wished happy birthday, but that they walk away from the book knowing the importance of having family and friends.
