5 Star Control cautioned businesses to regularly update and check all local internet marketing strategies. Regular maintenance and evaluation of these strategies is necessary, as it allows companies to remove any and all marketing techniques that do not yield consistent results. Because marketing maintenance requires time and effort, constantly pouring effort into an ineffective marketing platform will result in wasted time and, ultimately, wasted money. Routine maintenance and trimming of marketing is a necessary aspect of business advertising. The editor of 5 Star Control warned, “You better be tracking where and how your customers found you. If you don’t, how the heck are you going to be able to know what marketing platform you should be putting more time and financial resources into? If a customer calls you, ask how they found you. Did they find you using Google or Bing or Yelp? If so, figure out what keyword they entered in. Did they click on your paid ad or your organic listing? Did they hear about you from a friend?
