Williams wants readers to come away from her book understanding that there is a time to grieve, but that their lives will, and should, continue on.

The sudden death of author Rexanne Williams’ 19-year-old son sent her searching for answers. She had to learn how to live her life again. In her new and candid memoir, “Searching for the New Normal: My personal journal as my greatest fear is realized-- the death of my child.” (published by iUniverse), she shares the details of this difficult journey.

“This book is for anyone experiencing grief, especially someone who has lost a child,” Williams says. “This book is a mother’s personal journal that covers three years and begins seven days after her son’s death.”

The journal offers readers unfiltered moments of grief, but also the hope that it is possible to survive such a tragic event. Williams says that her book differs from those written by professionals trying to help parents who have lost children in that her book is written by someone experiencing loss firsthand.

Williams wants readers to come away from her book understanding that there is a time to grieve, but that their lives will, and should, continue on.
