In honor of Veteran’s Day, Wednesday, November 11, Richard Salturelli, of Citypub and Burger, will be donating $300 to USA Cares to honor our nation’s troops, which will provide a week’s worth of food to a family of four.

I am proud to give back to USA Cares in honor of those who gave so much for us and encourage others to do the same. We are coming up on the holidays but also on a celebration of our nation’s heroes, and there are so many veterans in legitimate need.

“I am proud to give back to USA Cares in honor of those who gave so much for us and encourage others to do the same,” said Richard. “We are coming up on the holidays but also on a celebration of our nation’s heroes, and there are so many veterans in legitimate need.”

USA Cares exists to help bear the burdens of service by providing post-9/11 military families with financial and advocacy support in their time of need. Its mission is to help restore financial stability and self-sufficiency by giving “a hand up.” The goal of USA Cares is to reach families at the earliest stage of intervention to prevent further financial distress and suffering, especially for the combat injured and their families.

In addition to donating to USA Cares, Richard is slated to work the 5:30 a.m. shift twice a week at the Denver Rescue Mission on Tuesdays and Thursdays, beginning in November. Founded in 1892, the Denver Rescue Mission is the oldest full-service Christian charity serving the needy in the Rocky Mountain region, and functions today as a non-denominational charity.

“No one at the Denver Rescue Mission is denied services because of gender, race, color, creed, national origin, religion, age, handicap, political affiliation, sex, sexual orientation, or marital, parental or military status,” said Richard, a previously long-tenured official with the Special Olympics. “We are all part of the human family, and some members of our family need help finding their next meal.”
