Richard Sloane Releases Third Book in Back to … Series
Cambridge, England (PRWEB) September 07, 2013 -- The third of the books in a projected series of five, “Back to Joan of Arc!” (published by AuthorHouse) takes readers on a magical journey back to 15th-century France to help Joan of Arc restore the rightful French king and defeat the English.
“I was looking for an interesting, historical, young person and, when I came across Joan of Arc, I knew that she was the perfect candidate to write about,” writes author Richard Sloane. “Her story is absolutely fascinating.”
In this installment of the Back to … series, two French children, Sophie and her blind brother, Philippe, travel back to medieval France on a magical carousel where they meet Joan of Arc. The Hundred Years’ War seems to have no end in sight and Joan is trying to decide if she will leave her family and go fight for France. It is up to Sophie and Philippe to help Joan brave the dangerous journey across France to restore the Dauphin to his throne and lead the French army against the English.
Filled with exciting battle scenes and magical encounters, Sloane creates an engaging world where readers become a part of history as they follow Sophie, Philippe and Joan into battle.
Sloane believes, “It is a fun way into history, combining real history with magic, fantasy and excitement, all elements which appeal to children from about nine and up.”
