Rick Barnes Takes Time from City Council Campaign to Welcome Granddaughter Charlotte
Glendale, CA (PRWEB) May 01, 2014 -- No political campaign is without its last minute surprises and Rick Barnes’ campaign for a seat on the Glendale City Council in the 2014 election is no exception. Amidst all the campaign work, such as calling voters and attending forums and meetings, Rick found the time for the most important aspect in his life – family.
Being a Grandfather
On Monday, April 14th, Rick’s daughter Erika went into labor and finally welcomed her baby girl and Rick’s new granddaughter, Charlotte. Weighing in at 5 pounds 7 ounces and measuring 19 inches long, Charlotte took a little longer than most to come into the world, but made it as a happy and healthy baby.
Witnessing the start of a new life is not just a miracle, it is a truly humbling experience. It is a too-often-forgotten reminder of what is really important: faith, family and community.
Bringing the Campaign into Perspective
Rick is seeking a seat on the Glendale City Council to maintain the city, his home since 1973, as one of the best places to live. This is, of course, a broad goal for which he has a plan revolving around specific key issues, including public safety, sound financial management, responsible and prudent development and traffic congestion. The birth of his granddaughter hasn’t just reminded Rick about the importance of family, but of the importance of why he wants help make sure Glendale is the best city it can be.
The decisions made today will affect the lives of tomorrow and seeking a seat on the Glendale City Council is not just about making sure the residents of Glendale live in a safe and successful city today. It is about making sure Glendale is a safe and successful city tomorrow.
