Rise Of Data Breaches, Data Privacy Regulations Drive Strong Customer Demand For Tozny’s End-To-End Encryption Product
PORTLAND, Ore. (PRWEB) October 17, 2018 -- As businesses grapple with data protection regulations such as GDPR and the rise of data breaches exposing sensitive personal data, Tozny today announced significant customer adoption of its flagship InnoVault product - the first commercially available toolkit that enables developers to embed end-to-end data security encryption capabilities into their websites, apps, and other software.
Traditional vendor cyber security tools do not provide developers with an easy and fast way to fully protect and secure users’ Personally Identifiable Information (PII) across their cloud services, websites and mobile apps. This has created a large and growing market opportunity that Tozny is capturing as InnoVault protects users’ data at the code level, - enabling engineers to effortlessly bake in comprehensive data protection beyond what most mobile and web applications use today.
Tozny has witnessed strong customer growth and product deployment across a broad range of verticals where data privacy and security is paramount, including the Department of Defense (DoD) and third party firms that handle and transport consumer data for payment processing, hiring, etc. Recent product deployments include:
HiringThing
HiringThing provides software to organizations that allows them to simplify and streamline their full-cycle recruitment and hiring process by hosting their applicant tracking software, and collecting, analyzing and storing applicant data, including sensitive information such as Social Security Numbers, addresses, banking information and other Personally Identifiable Information (PII). In order to safely and securely collect and store applicants’ data, HiringThing turned to Tozny’s InnoVault product to ensure that HiringThing handles only encrypted data and never itself has access to private information.
Hueya
Hueya is a social media security and digital risk monitoring firm committed to protecting their clients digital lives. Being a company with a strong focus on privacy, Hueya was committed to finding a way to store and retrieve the sensitive information discovered during Personally Identifiable Information (PII) scanning without compromising the privacy and security of their clients’ data. By deploying Tozny’s InnoVault product, Hueya was able to move away from plaintext PII storage to encrypt their users’ data throughout the entire process while respecting their users’ privacy by keeping their information safe and secure.
moovel
moovel creates solutions for the ever-changing state of urban transportation by enabling seamless multimodal experiences and connected transit commerce. Tozny has partnered with moovel since 2017 to implement its end-to-end encryption product onto its mobile applications.
DoD DARPA
Tozny is also part of a team awarded a contract by DARPA for its Warfighter Analytics using Smartphones for Health (WASH) program that aims to “to develop algorithms that enable continuous and real-time assessment of the Warfighter by leveraging data that is passively and unobtrusively captured by cellphone sensors.”. For the project, led by Charles River Analytics, Tozny’s InnoVault product will be used protect the privacy of user data, as part of the development of the Health and Injury Prediction and Prevention using Complex Reasoning and Analytic Techniques Integrated on a Cellphone App (HIPPOCRATIC App). With all options exercised, the four-year contract for HIPPOCRATIC App is valued over $15.5 million. For more information, see this press release.
“GDPR and other data protection regulations, along with the rise of data breaches, have accelerated enterprise demand for a fast, easy-to-deploy solution that ensures the privacy and security of all data they manage while reducing exposure to significant business, financial and legal risk,” said Isaac Potoczny-Jones, Tozny CEO. “Our InnoVault platform is gaining traction with commercial enterprises and government agencies because it allows developers to easily integrate security while they code - not after - so their websites, cloud services and mobile apps are protected.”
InnoVault was created in part with support from the National Strategy for Trusted Identities in Cyberspace (NSTIC) National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST). For more information on the NSTIC pilot, visit https://tozny.com/nstic/
