Roanoke Author Brenda McDaniel's New Book "My Angel, My Hero" is A Moving Testament to the Love and Faith Inspired by Her Parents' Marriage
Recent release "My Angel, My Hero" from Page Publishing author Brenda McDaniel, is an ode to a successful marriage between two members of the Greatest Generation, the determination it took them to get through the Great Depression, and the little things that they did throughout the author's life for her and each other.
PILOT, Va., May 13, 2019 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- Brenda McDaniel, a writer with an academic background in psychology and counseling, has completed her new book "My Angel, My Hero", which tells the tale of her parents' youth, how they came to fall in love, the difficulties they faced as a young married couple, their lives as her guardians, and the Christian faith that guided her mother—the eponymous 'angel'—and the strength exhibited by her father—the 'hero'.
"Both of my parents were Christians with a strong faith that helped them through difficulties and hardships, and gave them joy and love all during their lifetime," Brenda McDaniel said of the religion that was an undercurrent in the lives of her parents. "And now, in death, their love is eternal, where it continues in the presence of their loving Savior Jesus Christ and His Father."
Published by New York City-based Page Publishing, Brenda McDaniel takes readers into the earliest days of her parents lives. For the sake of anonymity, she refers to her parents as Snowe Mann and Henry Earl. It brings them into the time of her father's military training for the US Navy during World War II, and how Snowe and Henry met in town and fell in love quickly and deeply. In addition to faith, the book also deals with mental illness and their toll it can take on the afflicted individual and the family around them.
"Their love took them through struggles and roadblocks, through times of peace, happiness, complete joy, and unchanging faith in themselves and God," McDaniel continued. "Still, they weren't perfect. My mother was 90% angel and 10% human. My dad went through a living hell of mental illness. He was strong and never gave up fighting against his demons. He didn't express his feelings like my mom, but was a believer which kept him going, no matter what happened in life."
To learn more of their inspiring love story, "My Angel, My Hero" is available for purchase at bookstores everywhere, or online at the Apple iTunes store, Amazon, Google Play or Barnes and Noble.
