Robert Sherman's New Novel "Warring Kings of Old" Brings Readers to Mankind's Earliest Settlements, and Their Oldest Wars Over Land
Recent release "Warring Kings of Old" from Page Publishing author Robert Sherman introduces the Milites, an ancient tribe whose attempts at establishing a homeland after years of nomadic existence are met with strife and combat, and force them to flee once more.
LYNWOOD, Calif., June 17, 2019 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- Robert Sherman, an emerging author, has completed his new book "Warring Kings of Old": an immersive tale following the Milites as they convert from a nomadic to an agricultural society, but a stronger, more aggressive tribe invades their lands and pushes the Milites farther away from their new home. But as they travel to far off lands and encounter other civilizations, they learn skills which may help them in reclaiming their home.
"Whenever people build something of beauty and value, someone will eventually come along and take it," Robert Sherman said in describing the theme of his novel. "And this was what exactly happened to the Milite tribe of people. They were run off their land in Turkat and chased all the way to the Far East, in the land of Ethiopia and Egypt, where they learned from the people of the land the art of medicine, law, astrology, and warfare. Once they had learned all the things they needed to know, they vowed to return to their homeland of Turkat, in the land of Turkat, to take back what once belonged to them."
Published by New York City-based Page Publishing, this book can be seen as an allegory for the author's life.
"Growing up, I thought about how hard it was trying to find stability when my family and I had to move around all the time and never grew roots of our own," the author said. "Because I had no control, being the child and not the adult, I had to learn to be resilient and to never give up, even when I used to get hurt and looked death in the eye many times."
Readers who wish to experience the journey of the Milites can purchase "Warring Kings of Old" at bookstores everywhere, or online at the Apple iTunes store, Amazon, Google Play or Barnes and Noble.
