Gold’s Gym of Webster New York, an independent franchise and TAG Business Strategies, a search engine and social media marketing agency from Orlando, are pleased to announce the winner of the historic ‘Check In and Win Vacation to Hawaii’ on Facebook contest.
When Michael Scibetta found out that his local Gold’s Gym in Webster, in conjunction with a host of other independently owned Gold’s Gym’s, was giving away a free vacation to Hawaii just for checking in on Facebook every time he worked out, he was a bit skeptical.
"Of course it sounded good but even when I was checking in on Facebook every day I wondered to myself will anybody really be going to Hawaii?" Scibetta said. "It always seems like something like this is too good to be true and there's a catch".
Now Michael is looking forward to enjoying five sun-drenched days of oceanfront accommodations in Oahu including a flight from Rochester thanks to his efforts.
Michael intends to take his wife to Hawaii in January for a romantic trip away from the children. However Michael is not the only one that is elated with this outcome.
Todd Levine, the owner of Gold’s Gym in Webster and Fairport, and Bill Konstand, president of TAG Business Strategies, who flew in from the TAG headquarters in Orlando to award the prize, could be just as happy as Michael.

We also believe this contest is a first of its kind anywhere due to the value of the prize and the fact that a minimum number of check in’s was required to qualify for the grand prize."
Bill told us that the ‘Check In and Win a Trip to Hawaii’ contest, which is not affiliated with Facebook or Gold’s Gym International, was a grassroots effort with more than 60 Gold’s Gym Owners who have hired TAG Business Strategies for complete search engine, and social media marketing management.
Todd Levine of the local Gold’s Gym in Webster, New York can attest to the success. "We literally had hundreds of members participating in this contest and the Check-in posts went from bland initially, to very creative towards the end. It really created an incredible buzz in the clubs."
For the nearly 10,000 Gold’s Gym members who participated in the ‘Check In and Win a Trip to Hawaii’ contest but did not win, do not despair. Konstand tells us that TAG Business Strategies intends to run these contests every year at their participating Gold’s Gym locations. He says, “As more Gold’s Gyms that are independently owned and operated participate in this contest we will be able to increase the value of the prizes and make it even more amazing every single time.”
He tells us that destinations for upcoming contests may send one lucky participant anywhere from a Caribbean adventure to an exotic vacation to Tahiti, that information will be available in participating Gold's Gym Locations soon.
