Rod Mills Unravels a Powerful Story of Love and Triumph Amidst Life’s Adversity and Trials
Oklahoma City (PRWEB) September 04, 2013 -- Author Rod Mills has come up with another compelling piece of literary work about the life of two women and a child, whose path to Silver Lake, Idaho will bring them the true essence of their inner beings.
Song of Silver Lake, Vol. 2 takes readers to the continuing story of Grace, a young woman who, after living a fractured, hopeless life as a prostitute, was able to survive. So many good things have happened to her and Fanny when they met Clay and Derry London who even wanted to become their foster parents. But the foster people did not allow them because Derry is blind, and Clay is gone trucking all the time. But God had something else in mind. At church, Grace and Fanny meets Judge Nick Nicholas and his daughter, Noel. They fell in love with the two sisters and vice versa. Eventually, Nick became their foster father.
Clay London always believed in Grace even if she was still a lying truck stop whore. Derry saw promise in her and pushed the unpolished teenager toward greatness. Nick gave Grace a family and a sense of belonging that settled her emotionally. He also provided the means to help Grace accomplish great things musically. Demonstrating her giftedness in violin, Grace discussed with Derry the possibility of attending an elite institution like Julliard School of Music in New York. Derry promised Grace that she will make a few phone calls. She contacted Mr. Carlton Astor, founder of Astor Plastics in Seattle, and also a member of the Julliard board of regents. But to Derry’s surprise, Mr. Astor seemed more interested in Ruth, the blind woman’s seven-year- old niece than he is in Grace, the prospective Julliard student. What could possibly be Carlton Astor’s interest in little Ruth?
While Derry researched about the Julliard School of Music, Grace was invited to tour with the McCoy family, a local amateur bluegrass group. The Real McCoy makes a month long circuit to county fairs across several states. Grace, a novice to the Bluegrass fiddle, was shocked when Pop McCoy signed her up in the Lexington, Kentucky Bluegrass competition. Loyalties between Grace and The Real McCoy’s will be tested as bizarre events are about to unfold during their month long trip.
Song of Silver Lake, Vol. 2 is a compelling work of fiction that shares the heartwarming experience of two women and a child whose lives were interwoven in a series of events. Through this story, readers will learn invaluable insights on their quest for freedom, the inevitability of love and their unwavering strength to thrive despite times of adversity and trials.
