Spiritual leader Sri Sri Ravi Shankar said, “Find the love you seek, by first finding the love within yourself. Learn to rest in that place within you that is your true home”. If people aim to be accepted by others, they must learn to love his or her self first. This is what author Ron Winnegrad is trying to say in his book, “Being Different”.
This book is about being different and having the courage to embrace differences and accept originalities in others. Winnegrad will help readers look inside themselves, and learn how to embrace their whole personality. Acceptance of one’s self is a piece of cake if readers just view themselves as someone unique, that they deserve to be loved - in this way they develop confidence.
Being different does not mean one is bad or inferior. It might actually mean that some persons just have different mindsets or paths from others. It is not about how different one person is from the other. It is, rather, about being different and having the confidence to walk a different path, in finding comfort and fulfillment in not being like others and not doing what they do. Being different should give one the strength to stand tall, believe in themselves and not be upset if their socks do not match.
The bottom line is, “Being Different” is best achieved when people embrace everyone, everything, even if they are different. That might be a chance to show people something new. Readers should always remember that many successful personas became so because they had the courage to be different. Winnegrad wants readers to know that at the end of the day being different is what will propel them to achieve uniqueness, a different but natural way to be.
