Rosalyn Rogers-hamrick's Newly Released "Emmalea: Twice Loved" Is an Affectionate Tribute to Three Generations of Ordinary Americans Living With Their Decisions
"Emmalea: Twice Loved", from Christian Faith Publishing author Rosalyn Rogers-Hamrick, is a poignant, insightful story, following the lives of three generations of average Americans. Her story traces, how the decisions they've made throughout life affects their family and their community down through time, and how no matter how they ruin things with a poor choice every now and again, through the power of forgiveness, hope, and love, God can restore the balance.
MEADVILLE, Pa., Oct. 23, 2018 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- "Emmalea: Twice Loved" is an attentive glimpse through lives touched by God. "Emmalea" is the creation of published author Rosalyn Rogers-Hamrick, a retired nurse and current VP of Catch the Vision Ministries; she is a married mother and grandmother from rural West Virginia, currently residing in Texas.
Rogers-Hamrick shares a day in the life of Ben and Sally Rogers, "On top of their vintage console TV set was Ben's sketch pad and pencil set. During the winter months, with nothing much happening, he'd bring them out and draw subjects that he saw around the farm. After all, the farm was nearly everything to him.
Sally slipped off her dress shoes and put her floral tote on the desk. Next, she began to make dinner for two. She was so glad to get busy, hoping that it would take her mind off those disturbing statistics, but not before asking herself, 'Is anyone else in the congregation feeling what I am feeling about those 3,562…?'
From the refrigerator, she pulled out a small baked ham trimmed with a brown sugar glaze, whole cloves, pineapple slices, and maraschino cherries. She sliced a loaf of her homemade sourdough bread and some homegrown vine ripened big-boy tomatoes. She opened a jar of sweet pickles then placed Ben's southern pecan pound cake in
the center of their dining room table.
His cake was sitting on Sally's great grandmother's crystal cake plate, covered with its matching etched glass dome lid. Iced tea and a bowl of potato salad were also on the table. Oops! Sally almost forgot. She jumped up to get the mayo and a knife. Now they were ready for Ben to say grace."
Published by Christian Faith Publishing, Rosalyn Rogers-Hamrick's new book is a lovely investigation into the big picture and the small details that make up a life, taking note of things such as hobbies, the growing children's behavior, gardening practices, and family famous recipes.
At the end, readers will also be delighted with the recipes for homemade dishes and pastries shared by the people featured in the book.
