Round Rock Celebrates Dia De Los Muertos with Procession, Festival on Nov. 2
Round Rock, Texas (PRWEB) October 21, 2013 -- Williamson County Hispanic Heritage Committee, Round Rock Ballet Folklorico, City of Round Rock, Round Rock Arts and Univision will be sponsoring a Dia de los Muertos procession and festival from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 2, 2013 in downtown Round Rock.
Dia de los Muertos is a traditional Meso-American holiday dedicated to the ancestors; it honors both death and the cycle of life.
Schedule of Events
5 p.m. -- Line up for Procession at Centennial Plaza
6 p.m. -- Start procession to Main Street Plaza
6 p.m. -- Craft vendors and Art Gallery in ArtSpace
6:30 p.m. -- Music and performance by Round Rock Ballet Folklorico
7 p.m. -- Arts Group performs
8 p.m. -- Salero, Latin tropical band
Participants are encouraged to dress up and join the procession to be part of the celebration. No vehicles will be allowed in the Procession. We would like costumes in the following categories:
Elvis look-alikes
Frida Kahlo look-alikes
La Catrina's
Large puppets
Sugar skull painted faces
Colonial Mexico
Music makers
Marching bands
