Des Moines, IA (PRWEB) August 03, 2017
The Waukee Community Schools Foundation recently held their 2017 Annual Golf Tournament to raise money for the Waukee School District. West Des Moines attorney Ward Rouse sponsored a hole at the event. “Terrific event,” said Rouse, who sits on the board of the Waukee Community Schools Foundation. “Such a great job by Executive Director Gina Campos and the Tournament Committee. The fundraiser was a success all the way around.”
The Waukee Community Schools Foundation is a 501c3 non-profit that was founded in 1996 to support the school district. The Foundation has historically supported the district in the form of scholarships, grants to teachers and staff for professional development and continuing education, and classroom grants for items and technology not supported by district funds.
At this year’s tournament, 26 teams participated and brought in a net revenue of over $16,000 for the Foundation. Since November 2016, the Foundation has provided over $22,000 in classroom grants for items such as STEM educational material and books for ELL students. Additionally, at its recent 20th Annual Dinner & Auction Gala, the Foundation raised $83,000 for the Waukee School District.
