El Pastillo Golf Classic at Royal Isabela to Support and Preserve Local Ecosystem
Isabela, PR (PRWEB) August 27, 2014 -- Usually it’s the land that supports a golf course. This time, the golf course is helping support the land.
On Saturday, September 27, 2014, The Links at Royal Isabela—the highly acclaimed golf course in Isabela, Puerto Rico—will host the third annual El Pastillo Golf Classic. All proceeds from the event will fund El Pastillo Conservation Trust, which was established by Stanley and Charlie Pasarell, natives of Puerto Rico and founders of Royal Isabela, in cooperation with Puerto Rico’s Departamento de Recursos Naturales y Ambientales (DRNA). The Trust is dedicated to preserving El Pastillo Beach and its surrounding cliffs.
“Royal Isabela is very lucky and proud to inhabit this spectacularly beautiful piece of earth,” says Stanley Pasarell, managing partner of Royal Isabela. “If we are going to protect this magnificent landscape with the cliffs, dunes, wetlands, caves, and native plant and wildlife, we are dedicated to being its stewards, as well. The Trust established four initiatives regarding the property, which is located near the northwest corner of Puerto Rico, approximately 90 minutes from San Juan. Those initiatives are the land’s protection, conservation, and restoration, along with education. The Pasarells also created the Trust to increase the community’s awareness and involvement in insuring that the land will be enjoyed for generations to come.
