New Walk-In Center Opens at Richmond University Medical Center

Richmond University Medical Center announces the opening of its seventh primary care and walk-in center. The new emergency room facility treats minor to mid-range illnesses and injuries.

The Richmond University Medical Center announced the opening of its new primary care and walk-in center located at 1058 Forest Avenue, Staten Island, N.Y., 10310. The grand opening was celebrated with a ribbon cutting on Friday, May 20, 2016.

The new facility, which is open on weekdays from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. and on Saturday from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., has three physicians on staff, Dr. William Tursi, Dr. Peter Stathopoulos and Dr. Subbaraju Polepalli, as well as a nurse practitioner on staff. Additionally, unlike other walk-in facilities, Richmond University’s new center allows patients to schedule an appointment with one of the staff physicians.

The center offers emergency room care to patients suffering from minor to mid-range illnesses and injuries as well as pain management, and has the capability to perform blood tests and x-rays onsite. The new center is the seventh ambulatory care facility opened by Richmond University Medical Center.

Richmond University Medical Center is 470-plus bed healthcare facility and teaching institution, a Level 1 Trauma Center and a designated Stroke Center. It is an affiliate of the Icahn School of Medicine and The Mount Sinai Hospital, and has earned The Joint Commission’s Gold Seal of Approval® for quality and patient safety. The hospital features an onsite Wound Care/Hyperbaric Center and a Sleep Disorder Center at its main campus. It is also the only facility in the region to offer comprehensive inpatient behavioral health services for adolescents.
