Russia Infiltrates Catholic Church in New Thriller, “Stalin’s Priests”
ESCONDIDO, Calif. (PRWEB) September 17, 2018 -- With today’s trending stories of Russian interference in United States politics and the ongoing priest sexual scandals that have plagued the Catholic church now for decades, Rita and Erik Brandin’s historical fiction thriller, “Stalin’s Priests” is a ‘Da Vinci Code-esque’ tale that addresses these modern issues.
“Stalin’s Priests” tells the story of Rolf Wozzack, a KGB agent, who is hand chosen by Joseph Stalin himself as part of the Russian leader’s plan to infiltrate the Catholic church to subvert it for his own use and eventually destroy it from within.
Meanwhile, a 10-year-old girl named Lucia is visited by angels and the Virgin Mary with her two cousins and is told through prophecies 20 years before Stalin comes to power that Russia will spread evil throughout the world and persecute the church.
“Through our research, we discovered that the head of the NY State Teachers Union was a Communist who was secretly working on orders from Moscow to undermine the U.S. institutions which included recruiting Communists to enter American Catholic seminaries, become priests and infiltrate the church. Further research showed Stalin’s hatred for the church and desire to destroy it and how the 1917 Fatima Apparitions foretold the plot decades before it was hatched,” Erik Brandin said. “These diverse storylines were fascinating to us, so we decided to weave them together in a novel.”
In “Stalin’s Priests,” history fans, Catholics, and readers alike will be on the edge of their seats in suspense as the story twists and turns, bringing them to the conclusion’s shocking cliffhanger.
