“I was suddenly led to pray a different way. After praying this way, I became aware that I was praying in a poem.”

Author R. Vanderhoofven shares his inspiring, prayer-like poems with readers and believers alike in his new collection, “The Human Race” (published by Trafford Publishing).

“One night, I was sitting on the sofa praying,” says Vanderhoofven of his writing process. “I was suddenly led to pray a different way. After praying this way, I became aware that I was praying in a poem.”

The inspiration led Vanderhoofven to try writing more poems in this prayer form. His collection of eight poems discusses the role of God on Earth and the mysterious ways he has touched Vanderhoofven’s life. The poems also touch on the choice between heaven and hell for mankind.

An excerpt from “The Human Race”:

“…It is for Love that I have been redeemed.
Purchased pure and clean.
You’ve opened my eyes
to behold Your Grace
To share Your Word
with the Human race”
