A white man and a black man switch bodies only to discover how much they have in common in R.W. Sarver’s new novel “Mr. Benny” (published by Trafford Publishing).

Set mostly in Chicago, “Mr. Benny” opens with a terrible car crash that sends two men, one white and one black, to the emergency room where they’re both pronounced dead at the same time. By some miracle, both men awaken only to find themselves in each other’s bodies.

Unsure of how to get back into their own bodies, the two men must walk in the other’s shoes and come to terms with their personal racial biases. As their families try to deal with what has happened, both men must learn from one another’s experiences if they ever want to live their lives once more.

Packed with both humorous and sobering situations, “Mr. Benny” asks readers to contemplate what it would be like to view the world as a different race. Through his book, Sarver hopes to open his readers’ eyes to a myriad of new experiences.

Sarver is currently hard at work on a sequel to “Mr. Benny” and advises readers to be on the lookout for the upcoming novel. More information is available at http://www.authorrwsarver.com.
