Sacramento Defective Drug Attorneys at Arnold Law Firm Continue to Investigate Granuflo and NaturaLyte Injuries as Statute of Limitations Approaches
SACRAMENTO, CALIF. (PRWEB) February 25, 2014 -- California class action lawyers at the Arnold Law Firm are continuing to investigate injury claims linked to the hemodialysis drugs Granuflo and NaturaLyte as the statute of limitations for filing a claim quickly approaches. Statutes of limitations for injuries caused by NaturaLyte and Granuflo will begin to expire at the end of March 2014, or two years following the recall by the FDA.
It is required that all claims be filed prior to the statute of limitations running out in order for the claim to be valid. The statute of limitations ranges from two to six years depending on the state where the claim is filed.
In March 2012, pharmaceutical manufacturing company Fresenius Medical Care North America became the subject of a U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) recall in regards to its NaturaLyte and Granuflo products, in response to an Urgent Product Notification issued by the manufacturer.
NaturaLyte and Granuflo use has been associated with increased incidence of cardiac arrest and sudden death due to elevated levels of bicarbonate in patients being treated with the dialysis drugs. According to the official U.S. Food and Drug Administration recall, side effects may include metabolic alkalosis, hypokalemia, dangerously low blood pressure, and sudden death. Following the Fresenius recall, the FDA issued a Safety Communication in regards to the dangers of treating patients with dialysate concentrates containing citrate, acetic acid, or acetate, similar to those found in Granuflo and NaturaLyte.
Court documents filed in the U.S. District Court, District of Massachusetts (MDL 2428) reflect that more than 400 lawsuits alleging injuries and wrongful death from these allegedly defective drugs have been filed and consolidated in multidistrict litigation. Any person treated with these drugs or family member that has lost a loved one who was a dialysis patient is urged to contact the Arnold Law Firm for a free no-obligation consultation regarding their legal rights before the statute of limitation is met.
