WARRENDALE, Pa., Dec. 21, 2018 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- SAE Industry Technologies Consortium (ITC) announces the hiring of Peter Doty as its new Senior Business Development Manager

Doty will be based in the Washington DC metropolitan area and his duties will include developing, maintaining, and expanding key relationships with organizations involved in many different sectors of industry, including Aerospace, Automotive, Ground Vehicle, Naval, Space, and others as applicable. On the Aerospace side, he is particularly excited to be supporting ARINC Industry Activities program in its outreach to new members and sponsors. On the automotive side, he is excited to provide a DC connection for the Defense Automotive Technologies Consortia (DATC). He is also looking forward to supporting both commercial industry and military in exploring optimized approaches for management of dual use standard parts.
Prior to joining SAE ITC, Doty was a colonel in the U.S. Air Force officer with a career spanning over 26 years. His most recent position was as the Deputy Director of the interagency Hostage Recovery Fusion Cell leading overseas recovery of hostages for the U.S. government. Doty held command and leadership positions in operations and staff assignments in special operations, personnel recovery, and international security policy. A former military fellow at the Center for Strategic and International Studies, Doty also was the Director of the Office of International Security Operations, Bureau of Political-Military Affairs, U.S. State Department. He is a rated command pilot having flown both helicopters and fixed-wing aircraft.
Doty has a Masters in Systems Engineering from the Air Force Institute of Technology, a Masters in Engineering Management from West Coast University, and a Bachelors in Aeronautical Engineering from the United States Air Force Academy.
