Now in its sixth year, SafeAuto’s Do The Jingle contest, a competition in which musicians create their own renditions of the SafeAuto jingle, opens for public voting on January 13, 2014. Beginning at midnight, the public can visit the Do The Jingle website to view all this year's submissions and vote for their favorites. The submission with the most votes by 11:59 p.m. on February 28, 2014, will win the $5,000 grand prize and a chance to be featured with their jingle in a future SafeAuto advertising campaign.
This year’s contest received 145 submissions from musicians across the country. Participants were able to submit their jingles online, but many performed their jingles live for a video team from SafeAuto that recorded musicians’ renditions in Nashville, TN; Norfolk, VA; Lexington, KY; Kansas City, MO; Cincinnati, OH; and Columbus, OH.
While only one winner will claim the coveted $5,000 cash prize and opportunity to star in a SafeAuto commercial, submissions that rank in the top 16 will also be awarded prizes ranging from the $2,500 second-place prize to iTunes giftcards, SafeAuto merchandise and other cash awards for other qualifiers.

Last year, SafeAuto’s Do The Jingle contest generated more than 3.3 million votes, an all-time record for the annual event. The winning jingle by Ayanna Lewis of Hamilton, Ohio, racked up 392,123 votes to secure the top spot and is currently featured in a SafeAuto commercial that has generated a lot of buzz around the brand on social media.
This year’s content winner will be formally announced in March after all public votes have been tallied.
