Safety Harbor Art and Music Center to Host Singer Songwriter Music Festival, Featuring More Than 30 Musical Talents
Safety Harbor, FL (PRWEB) February 05, 2014 -- Safety Harbor Art and Music Center (SHAMc) will host the Safety Harbor Singer Songwriter Festival (SHSSF) on April 4, 5, and 6, 2014. This regional destination event will showcase more than 30 musical acts at the new Safety Harbor Waterfront Park, located at 110 Veterans Memorial Lane next to the Safety Harbor marina and pier.
The SHSSF benefits the newly formed Safety Harbor Art and Music Center (SHAMc). The featured musicians are mainly acoustic acts that pull from a wide range of influences, including blues, bluegrass, country, jazz, pop, world beat and more. Most identify with the popular “Americana” or “New Americana” label. Current SHSSF contracted artists include Ben Taylor, Jennifer Knapp, Andrew Belle, Webb Wilder, Phil Madeira, Ryan Montbleau, Kevin Rowe, Victoria Vox, Randall Bramblett, Rachael Sage, Callaghan, and others. A full, current lineup can be found on the SHSSF website. More artists will join the line up as the date draws closer, with headliners being announced in coming weeks.
The festival kicks off on Friday, April 4, 2014 at the Safety Harbor Museum & Cultural Center, 329 Bayshore Boulevard, Safety Harbor, FL from 6-9pm. Performances continue throughout the weekend at the new waterfront park, from noon to 10 p.m. on Saturday and noon to 8 p.m. on Sunday. Musicians will also perform at local venues throughout the weekend. Tickets can be purchased directly from the Safety Harbor Singer Songwriter Festival website. Members of the press who are interested in covering the event can contact Todd Ramquist at (727) 725-4018.
SHAMc is a newly formed nonprofit 501(c)(3) organization whose mission is to promote education in the fine art, visual arts, and performing arts. Todd Ramquist and Kiaralinda (no last name) wanted to create a community arts center for many years. SHAMc is currently under construction in downtown Safety Harbor and is quickly becoming a landmark. Founders Ramquist and Kiaralinda are both local artists who are globally renowned for their art house, Whimzeyland.
“We’re just ecstatic to bring another creative venture to our community,” says Kiaralinda, SHAMc co-founder and festival organizer. “This festival will, in turn, benefit the community in other ways, since all of the profits are going to the new Safety Harbor Art and Music Center.”
