Public Sector Safety & Health Fundamentals Certificate Program Announced by the OSHA Training Center at Chabot-Las Positas Community College District
Dublin, CA (PRWEB) December 06, 2016 -- The OSHA Training Center at Chabot-Las Positas Community College District, the only authorized OSHA Training Institute Education Center headquartered in Northern California, has announced the addition of a Public Sector Safety & Health Fundamentals certificate program focused on providing occupational safety and health training to public sector employees.
“The primary goal of the Public Sector Safety & Health Fundamentals certificate program is to reduce injuries, illnesses and fatalities among workers in state and local governments,” said Cari Elofson, Assistant Director of the OSHA Training Center at Chabot-Las Positas Community College District. “This important program supports OSHA’s safety mission by extending vital OSHA standards-based training to over 22 million public sector employees in the U.S.”
Participants can customize the program to reflect their own areas of interest by pursuing the Construction or General Industry Public Sector Safety & Health Fundamentals certificate through a combination of core required courses and electives. Core required courses include OSHA Standards for Construction or General Industry, Introduction to Safety and Health Management and Introduction to Accident Investigation. Participants can select from a wide variety of elective courses, including Electrical Hazards, Evacuation and Emergency Planning and Health Hazard Awareness.
Although this program was primarily designed for public sector employees, it is available for anyone interested in furthering their knowledge of occupational safety and health. Enrolling in this safety and health fundamentals certificate program can help participants:
